Last week I was invited by a student to speak at an event she was organizing. The theme we selected together is actually the same theme as the free guide I provide on this website: 3 Pillars of High Performance.
I had tremendous fun doing it, as you can see from the picture above.
I was scheduled to speak for 20 minutes and then take 5 min Q&A.… I am afraid I blew that… Q&A started to happen throughout and we ended up close to an hour session… and still there was more to talk about…
And then it struck me… For me the topic is really simple… But I am clearly not at the same place as everyone else. Maybe it was just this specific audience, but a lot of other people I talk to tell me the same thing… While there is power in simple, most people focus on their technical ability, the studies, the academics, the “how to do” the job, and forget completely about the system that executes all of this, themselves.
I should not be surprised, I teach this day in an day out, I talk to both students and non-students and I meet a lot of people… yet… This knowledge seems to be surprising to many people.
The other cool thing I got to do with this audience is the content which I could not fit into the guide and keep its size manageable… In the guide you will find links to this blog. I wrote 7 articles about the 3 pillars and what you can DO right now to start the process of their optimization. Had I included them on the guide I would probably need to call it book… Anyways, I repeated exactly what is on the articles and the reaction of the audience was so cool. I could see each person’s eyes sparkling as they discovered for themselves each pillar and how to manage them.
Some of the people in the audience have already contacted me. Maybe the timing was right for everyone… What I wish is that every one of them has had a remarkable experience!
So if you have not downloaded the free guide… get it now!
